Outline of the Program
In order to better serve children with intellectual disabilities in Zambia, we are creating an incredibly unique Child Sponsorship program, where each child receives direct benefits through specific programs designed to meet their needs. These programs will be run out of the Special Hope Community Care Centers located in various neighborhoods around the city of Lusaka. Those children who are sponsored by Special Hope Network will receive the following benefits, depending on their needs:

General Developmental AssessmentWe believe that the parents and family members of a child with an intellectual disability are invaluable to their growth and development, and so they are significantly involved in the Sponsorship program. In order to receive the benefits listed above, the parent/guardian must agree to the following:

3. Nutritional Support
4. Educational Support
5. Therapeutic Support
6. Parent and Family Support
1. Complete and sign application formBenefits of the program DO NOT INCLUDE the following:
2. Wait to be notified of acceptance
3. Once accepted, the parent/guardian must bring child to visit the Special Hope Community Care Center at least ONCE per week (we will assign appropriate time for them to come)
4. The parent/guardian must attend assigned Support Group meetings at the Special Hope Community Center
5. The parent/guardian must participate in recommended home- assignments (therapy, education, etc)
1. Money (we do not give direct financial assistance of any kind)____________________________________________
2. Food (if the child is malnourished, we will provide nutritional support through a feeding program)
Being a Sponsor
We know that when you choose to sponsor a child, you do so because you want to be connected with that child. We want to be sure you are actively involved in their care, and so, as a sponsor you can expect to receive:
1. Welcome Packet- Gives you more details (including a picture) of your child, as well as the specific programs in which they will participate____________________________________________
2. Regular Updates- Several times a year, we will send you reports on how your child is doing and the progress they have made
3. Christmas Cards- In early December, we will send you a card and picture from your child
How much does it cost?
To be a sponsor, you will pay a monthly fee of $35, which is tax deductible through Special Hope Network's 501c3 tax status.
